Trolls vs. Orcs. No, this is not your fantasy wrestling match where the gladiator-style winner gets your hand and whisks you off in a chariot.
But that may become a short story, huh??
No, seriously, I LOVE my Orcs in Pine Ridge, and they have a rich backstory that I personally connect to. They’re from the British Isles, lived among humans as warring clans (Yeah, the humans did that stuff, too), eventually made peace, lived quiet lives as landsmen, herdsmen, fishers, and the like—and in the modern day are everything from accountants to chefs and hockey stars. Trolls?
Trolls look like Orcs in some ways. They are both in the green color palette, although trolls lean more towards gray. Orcs and trolls have tusks. Trolls have, in MY little brain, NOT lived peacefully alongside humans in most cases. They are dark creatures, and in sunlight, they turn to stone, like some old myths say. Good trolls are the exception, and if they have never harmed humans, the sun doesn’t bother them. Of course, peaceful trolls in search of a monsteriffic community come to Pine Ridge with their emotional baggage and their quest for a better life.
